Black violet color. Aromas and flavors of black cherry cola, cinnamon bark, and dried herbs in pork fat with a round, tangy, dry full body and a warming, complex, very long finish with shades of bramble berry pie, black and red cassis, baking spice, and cocoa nibs with chewy tannins and light oak flavor. A perfect blend of Old World nuance and New World fruit and oak.

While Portugal is best known for its production of Port wines, there are several types of red wine also produced in various regions. The best known of these include the robust reds produced from varieties that are used to produce Port, varieties such Touriga Nacional and Tinta Cao. These wines are produced in the Dour Valley and are ripe with black fruit flavors; the wines generally have slightly low acidity, due to the hot local climate. Drink these wines with rich red meats, game or aged cheeses.
