Light amber color. Aromas and flavors of smoky sea salted caramel, hazelnut and leather, dark honey toasted sesame candy, and cinnamon graham cracker with a round, tangy, dry medium body and a warming, complex, medium-long finish that presents nuances of white chocolate macadamia nut, vanilla toffee roasted walnut, smoked hazelnut and umami mushroom, and baking spice. Rich and complex with a light smokiness and some mildly nutty flavors to balance the tropical and orchard fruits; this is really unique and sets itself apart from the pack.

Although not a huge industry, there are more than a dozen makers of Australian whisky, with most of them located on the island of Tasmania. Quality is quite high, especially for the versions aged in small French oak barrels for more than 12 years. There are various styles of Australian whiskey, both blended as well as single malt.

Australian whiskeys are generally smooth, without the peatiness or tang of Scotch whiskys. Flavor profiles range from notes of honey, forest herbs and golden raisin to cedar and chestnut. These are generally whiskies for sipping.
