Dark amber color. Aromas and flavors of figgy toffee pudding, caramelized blackberries, Scottish fudge, and leather and baking spice with a round, lively, dry medium-to-full body and a tingling, complex, medium-long finish evoking notes of figs and berries, sweet tea, bananas foster, and black cherry and kola nut. Rich and fruited this is just damn good Single Malt.

Although not a huge industry, there are more than a dozen makers of Australian whisky, with most of them located on the island of Tasmania. Quality is quite high, especially for the versions aged in small French oak barrels for more than 12 years. There are various styles of Australian whiskey, both blended as well as single malt.

Australian whiskeys are generally smooth, without the peatiness or tang of Scotch whiskys. Flavor profiles range from notes of honey, forest herbs and golden raisin to cedar and chestnut. These are generally whiskies for sipping.
