Golden amber color. Aromas and flavors of dried dates and figs, cocoa nibs, roasted pecans and walnuts, and molasses with a round, crisp, dry medium-to-full body and a tingling, layered, medium-long finish with suggestions of dark caramel and cocoa beans, italian coffee and chocolate covered biscotti, sweet tobacco, and berry cobbler ala mode. A complex, decadently malty Whisky that will pleasantly accompany your coffee and biscuit afternoon break.

Although not a huge industry, there are more than a dozen makers of Australian whisky, with most of them located on the island of Tasmania. Quality is quite high, especially for the versions aged in small French oak barrels for more than 12 years. There are various styles of Australian whiskey, both blended as well as single malt.

Australian whiskeys are generally smooth, without the peatiness or tang of Scotch whiskys. Flavor profiles range from notes of honey, forest herbs and golden raisin to cedar and chestnut. These are generally whiskies for sipping.
