Aromas and flavors of honey baked red apple, black cherry syrup, caramel syrup and coffee grounds, and dark chocolate and fennel seeds with a round, crisp, dry medium body and a tingling, complex, medium-length finish revealing notes of cherry and almond, vanilla caramel french roast, and mushroom tea. Fascinating and atypical for a Rye Whiskey; rich red fruits with an earthy base line and confectionary barrel flavors without the traditional spicy and peppery note, however still very tasty.
