Arneis
Arneis means rascal in Piedmontese dialect, referring to its wily growing habits. Occasionally called 'White Barolo', this flagship white grape of the region was traditionally used for blending with and softening Nebbiolo based wines. Nowadays it shines in a varietal wine that offers gorgeous pear, apricot, and almond flavors with a generous dose of minerality. These wines tend to be un-oaked and are freshest when drunk young. Try Roero Arneis with tortilla espanola, mild curries, or ham on the bone.
