Maibocks are light bronze to deep amber in color and range in alcohol from 6-7.5%. These beers are medium to full-bodied and are characterized by a sweet malty flavor and subtle hop character. As its name suggests, this is a bock style that traditionally makes a spring appearance in May in celebration of a new brewing season. Noteworthy examples of this style include: Rogue Dead Guy Ale, Capital Maibock, Hofbräu Maibock and August Schell Schell’s Maifest.
