About Vienna

About Vienna
Vienna lagers are amber to red in color and range in alcohol from 5-6%. These beers have a very malty, toasted character and a hint of sweetness. This style was originally brewed in Austria in the 19th century and has since come to be known as the Vienna style. This style of beer was adapted by Munich brewers and led to the märzen style. Vienna lagers have declined in popularity in recent years, and consumers are more likely to see Vienna lagers from Mexico than Europe or the US. Noteworthy examples of this style include: Negro Modelo, Victoria Lager and Metropolitan Dynamo Copper Lager.
