Asti Spumante is Italy's largest producing appellation and a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in southeastern Piedmont. Made from Moscato Bianco grapes (aka Muscat Blanc a Petits Grains in France), these sweet sparkling wines boast bountiful apricot, peach, and honey notes. Asti Spumante is usually 7-9.5% ABV, truly sparkling, and not to be confused with Moscato d'Asti which has a lower ABV and is only slightly sparkling ("frizzante").
