Silvery emerald straw color. Aromas and flavors of peach peel, apple blossom, and kiwi with a satiny, crisp, dry light-to-medium body and a smooth, interesting, relaxed finish with overtones of canned peach, lemon zest, sweet red grapefruit, and herbs de provence. A lovely example of Clairette Blanc executed surprisingly well outside of the Rhone valley.

While France's Rhone Valley is world famous for its red wines, there are also some notable whites produced here as well. These are often blends of several grape varieties, such as Marsanne, Roussanne and Viognier. There are moderately priced examples of Rhone white wines, such as Côtes-du-Rhône Blanc, while a Condrieu, made from Viognier, is highly limited and quite expensive.

Many of these whites have flavor profiles of pineapple, honeysuckle and orange blossom; pair with such foods as fusion cuisine (chicken with pineapple sauce), Chinese chicken or scallops with orange sauce. Lighter versions should be enjoyed within two to three years of the vintage date, while full-bodied whites such as Condrieu and Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc can age for more than a decade.
