Light garnet color. Aromas of cherries, vanilla raspberry nougat, roasted red beets, and mushroom with a medium-to-full body and a medium-to-long tart red cherry, chocolate covered fig, and red berries in earl grey tea finish. A great foodie wine that would work with a variety of proteins and cuisine.

Vin de Pays Other Red

Vin de Pays are for better or worse, country wines - simple, everyday offerings that offer charm and local character for not a lot of money. The wines are usually named for their grape types. Besides Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah, other reds include Pinot Noir as well as blended reds. These are medium-bodied wines with moderate tannins, good acidity and a lighter herbal character. They are fine values, priced in the $10-$12 range in most cases. Drink fresh and pair with stews, lighter poultry and bistro cuisine.
