Specialty Spirit or Distilled Spirits Specialty is a catchall category for other spirits that don't fit into other categories. According to the US TTB they are 'generally, any class and/or type of distilled spirits that contain or are treated with flavoring and/or coloring materials and/or nonstandard blending or treating materials or processes.' Examples include both domestic and international spirits that are flavored during and by distillation, versus post-distillation flavoring.
