The Tamar Valley is a significant area of vineyard development in Tasmania (along with the Derwent and Coal River regions near Hobart) and it is located on the North Coast in proximity to the island's second largest town, Launceston. Vineyard stretch along a 30 mile section of the river and are dedicated to cool-climate whites and Pinot Noir.
