Burnt sienna color. Aromas and flavors of tart and ripe red cherries and grilled watermelon, wet forest floor and chantrelle mushroom, grape jolly rancher, and ginger with a satiny, dry medium-to-full body and an interesting, medium-length finish with impressions of brown butter with a sprig of rosemary and stewed purple fruits. A complex and complicated Melomel that challenges with smoky accents.

Melomel

Melomel is a traditional mead to which fruit has been added. The fruit character is the driver here, and whether dry or sweet should be very evident. Key here is a natural, ‘off-the-vine’ evocation rather than any suggestion of artificial flavorings.
